Songs For The Soul Installation KKKC Gallery Klaipeda Lithuania

Klaipėda Culture Communication Center (KKKC) Exhibition Hall (Didžioji Vandens St. 2, Klaipėda) in 2022. on Friday, Jan. 21, at 5 p.m. Francesca Levi's (UK) video project "Songs for the Soul" is presented.

Video artist Francesca Levi's project "Songs for the Soul" intertwines important and everyday rituals, accompanied by music. The project combines audiovisual recordings by various filmmakers from around the world, from opera arias sung at Italian weddings to songs by 15th-century hunting madrigals and women weaving clothes in Kurdistan.

“The Songs for the Soul project is part of my daily film festival, Everyday Arias, for films exclusively related to world theater and opera music and folk songs. It provides intimate insights into the power of song in our lives. We are glad that this project is being shown in Lithuania, a country with such a deep connection to song and music, ”the author presents the project.

Francesca Levi (UK) is a video artist who uses a variety of digital media in her work, experimenting with the art of installation. 2021 For the Brighton Festival, she presented the interdisciplinary work Yolk and Aliens with actress Jane Horrocks, composer Molly Vivian and set designer Camilla Clarke. The intergenerational project explores birth, mother-daughter relationships, and the aging process. The artist constantly collaborates with musicians and presents joint projects at international film festivals. F. Levi directs the short film festival Everyday Arias, which focuses on opera and folk music, revealing the magic of the song in all aspects of life.

The exhibition will run until 2022. February 13

Opera Shorts

Everyday Arias is delighted to be a part of Opera In The City Festival  programme opera shorts on September the 1st .

Although the collaboration between opera and film is not new, we hope to reinvigorate the art form by bringing elements of the extraordinary into the everyday. Our idea of opera embraces all cultures and music traditions as our programme features shorts from a variety of countries and cultures.  This exciting juxtaposition of creative visions will hopefully prove stimulating for both the die-hard opera fan and for newcomers. Everyday Arias Instalment 3

Everyday Arias are back with a new and wonderful collection of opera shorts and world theatre equivalents. This time we are screening in the centrally located Grosvenor Casino, Russel square casino ( 61-66 Russel Square...very near the tube station) on Saturday the 25th of November from 2:00-4:00 pm.

All of the films selected are set in everyday surrounds, making the ordinary extraordinary. After previous wonderful programmes , we are honoured that our November season boasts an equally fantastic array of internationally acclaimed film makers and Opera makers. 

Francesca Levi, creative director of Everyday Arias, says that “although the collaboration between opera and film is not new, we hope to reinvigorate the art form by incorporating the everyday with the extraordinary. This exciting juxtaposition  of creative visions  will hopefully  prove stimulating for both the die-hard opera fan and new audiences. As the title suggests, it is a very approachable concept of the art form.”

London film buffs and opera aficionados save the date and join us at Republic Gallery on the 21st of January from 19:00 -21:00 pm for the London  winter screeening of Everyday Arias- a collection of opera short films. All of which are set in everyday surrounds, making the ordinary extraordinary. After a wonderful summer programme, we are delighted to reveal our winter collection which boasts an equally fantastic array of internationally acclaimed film makers and Opera makers.

What was particularly thrilling for those involved in this project was the enormous response from such talented film makers, many with both international reputations and plaudits for their work. The subject matter and treatment  are wonderfully diverse, and as such it is a real celebration of the art form across the continents. Tower Hamlet film buffs and opera aficionados save the date and join us at The Republic London Gallery on the 9th of July from 19:00 -21:00 pm  for the London  premiere of Everyday Arias- a collection of opera short films , all of which are set in everyday surrounds- be it a market place, or a room with a weaving loom. Alongside this film premiere, which boasts a fantastic array of internationally acclaimed film makers and Opera makers.
